Pre-Passover Repentence

Mr. Wallace Lawton      03-10 2012

Encouragement provided in an examination of ourselves in light of the human condition of “none being righteous” when compared to Christ’s character, the character of God, being our goal. Examination of our covenant with God at baptism is reviewed.  How we come before God at the Passover is a vital element to the eventual completion of that covenant.  Included in this sermon is an examination of the 10 commandments, and some examples of how they relate to our self-examination.

A Formula For Repentance

Mr. Jon Ardis      01-10-2004

Many of our trials are caused by ourselves.  2 Cor 7:11 shows us that we cannot continue to go to God over the same sin(s). Godly sorrow works repentance to salvation. A seven point formula for effective repentance is discussed. These seven points are: 1. Diligence about our calling and not being casual about sin, 2. Seeking after a good name/reputation, 3. Righteous anger to hate sin. 4. Having a proper fear and respect for God, 5. Have an intense desire to overcome on a daily basis, 6. Have zeal for the work of God, and 7. Recognise and correct what wrong personal actions and attitudes exist.
