A Formula For Repentance – Revisited

Mr. Jon Ardis   12-07-2019    (from 03-01-2007)

Many of our trials are caused by ourselves.  2 Cor 7:11 shows us that we cannot continue to go to God over the same sin(s). Godly sorrow works repentance to salvation. A seven point formula for effective repentance is discussed. These seven points are: 1. Diligence about our calling and not being casual about sin, 2. Seeking after a good name/reputation, 3. Righteous anger to hate sin. 4. Having a proper fear and respect for God, 5. Have an intense desire to overcome on a daily basis, 6. Have zeal for the work of God, and 7. Recognize and correct what wrong personal actions and attitudes exist.

All God’s commandments are righteousness. We are to become Pillars with specific roles in God’s coming kingdom. In order to fulfill our roles, we need to exercise our senses to determine good and evil. Not only the physical but the spiritual aspects of the ten commandments are always in effect. We must examine both our strengths and weaknesses and grow up into Christ in all things.
