The Environmental Protection Agency temporarily is set to cut regulations on fuel blended with ethanol in an effort to address gas prices which have soared in recent weeks due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
President Donald Trump’s EPA said on Wednesday that it is waiving federal restrictions to allow the nationwide sale of gas blended with 15%, commonly referred to as E15. The sale of E15 is barred in much of the United States during the summer months to cut back on air pollution. The EPA is also removing “all federal impediments” on the sale of E10 gas. The Trump administration’s move to free up the sale of E10 and E15 gas is set to take effect on May 1 and remain in place until May 20, and it could be extended.

Speaking on state television, Rahim Nadali, a cultural official with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), confirmed that the new “For Iran” recruitment drive aims to mobilize children to assist security forces against what he termed “the global bully.” Nadali justified the decision by claiming a “high number” of young volunteers were eager to serve. An American was among three people arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed a warehouse in the Czech Republic linked to a company supplying drones to Ukraine.
Two suspects were arrested in the Czech Republic, while a third was detained in Slovakia and faces possible extradition. Authorities are investigating the suspected arson attack as an act of terrorism. Police identified the suspects as U.S. and Czech nationals.

After an emotionally-charged debate, the Scottish Parliament on March 17 rejected a bill that would have made Scotland the first U.K. country to legalize assisted suicide.
The three-hour-long debate ended with the bill failing by a 69-57 margin, with one member abstaining, short of the 64 votes needed to pass. Twelve members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) who supported the bill at Stage 1 of its introduction abandoned their support after the debate, including members of the Scottish National Party, Labour party and Conservative party.
