A U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer, the USS Delbert D. Black, docked Friday at Israel’s Red Sea port of Eilat amid ongoing tensions between the Trump administration and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the vessel’s arrival was pre-planned and part of the ongoing cooperation between American and Israeli forces, the Times of Israel reported. German police are still no closer to identifying a suspect over the left-wing terror attack that plunged much of Berlin into darkness for days during freezing weather, and have posted a bounty to encourage the public to turn in those responsible.

The German security services are offering an unprecedented €1 million ($1.2 million, £870,000) reward for information leading to the identification of those responsible for a sabotage attack against a critical power line in the city earlier this month. Believed to be the work of a left-wing terror cell, the attack struck a precisely chosen point on the city’s power grid that left “approximately 45,000 households and 2,200 commercial customers in the Berlin districts of Nikolassee, Wannsee, Zehlendorf, and Lichterfelde”.

Communist lawmakers from Russia’s State Duma established a committee seeking to achieve the “liberation” of Venezuela’s deposed socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, the Russian embassy in Caracas announced Wednesday.

The Russian embassy, in a Telegram post, detailed that the committee was created by lawmakers from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) to “fight” for the release of Maduro and Flores. The group, which has 27 members, was presented by CRPF Vice President Dmitri Novikov during a press conference in Moscow.

A Washington man claims his attacker stabbed him after asking his religion and hearing he was a Christian.

The stabbing victim was living in his car with his girlfriend and dogs, according to KOMO News. The girlfriend told the local outlet that her boyfriend first denied having any religion when the stranger accosted him, but when the stranger pressed him, he tentatively identified as Christian. The stranger then accused the man of pursuing him and stabbed both the man and his dog. The stabber fled, subsequently engaging in a chase and shootout with deputies that resulted in his death.

President Donald Trump expressed his vision for “a strong and unified West” at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday and called on Europe to abandon the culture it has cultivated over the past decade.
