We all look forward to the time we receive immortality in God’s kingdom. The society of the world tomorrow will respect its elderly. In the meantime we must rejoice that we have lived so long and have come know God and His truths. We choose with God’s spirit not to make the same mistakes of the past and bring forth the fruit of wisdom in our old age.

Temperance involves being discrete, using restraint and moderation in all things. This includes our use of alcohol. Scriptures are discussed that show that the proper use of wine is a blessing of God, for enjoyment, health, and healing. The changing of water into wine was the first miracle performed by Jesus.

The current world economic system encourages enslavement, poverty and injustice. In contrast, with Christ ruling, obedience to God’s laws of economics will bring freedom, justice and security for everyone.

Christ as a human being did not sin and provided us with a perfect example of all of the fruits of the Spirit. He came to serve, not to be served. A remarkable fact is that Jesus was not self-confident but realized that without the Father He could do nothing. Conversion is a growth process. We must be receptive to instruction, learn from suffering and develop meekness in order to follow Christ’s example.

We need to ask ourselves “Did I have everything ready for Pentecost this year? We must obey the truth in spirit not just in word. God will turn us into a God being if we do His will. We must divest ourselves of our carnal nature with Christ as our example.
