McMorrow, a state Senator and Majority Whip, is locked in a three-way battle for the open seat being vacated by retiring Senator Gary Peters (D-MI). On her far left is Abdul El-Sayed, the former Wayne County health director and Bernie Sanders-backed leftist who has also scrubbed his social media history after championing \u201cdefund the police\u201d rhetoric. On her right is Representative Haley Stevens, the establishment moderate, who was recently booed at the Michigan Democratic convention for being just that.<\/p>\n
