Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) joined MSNBC on Wednesday to tout President Joe Biden\u2019s record on the economy \u2014 specifically pointing to inflation and saying that it was \u201cdown\u201d \u2014 and claimed that \u201cdisinformation\u201d was the reason so many Americans weren\u2019t seeing that progress.<\/p>\n
Clyburn was still at it when \u201cMorning Joe\u201d host Mika Brzezinski \u2014 who agreed with Clyburn that \u201cdisinformation\u201d was certainly a problem \u2014 broke in to point out the fact that inflation had risen more than expected in the last month.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd so the inflation rates are down,\u201d Clyburn began. \u201cAnd people\u2019s incomes are up. Unemployment is on the decrease. And although we see the prices at the stores costing more money, people are in fact earning greater incomes.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo what we\u2019ve got to do is make sure that people see the policies of Biden administration, how they affect their everyday lives and get them to see in his policies that which is real, not what they may hear on social media,\u201d Clyburn continued, arguing that \u201cdisinformation\u201d on social media platforms was one of the main reasons people didn\u2019t believe the Biden economy was working in their favor.<\/p>\n
Brzezinski echoed Clyburn\u2019s concerns about the impact of \u201cdisinformation,\u201d but then shared a headline showing the most recent Consumer Price Index data \u2014 which revealed a greater-than-expected\u00a0increase in the inflation rate<\/a>\u00a0for the month of March: 3.5%, the highest increase in 6 months.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s also a lack of validation that these voters feel,\u201d Brzezinski said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m going to bring in Andrew Ross Sorkin right now because we just got breaking news \u2014 the Consumer Price Index increased at a faster-than-expected pace last month, a signal that inflation remains stubbornly high.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more at: dailywire.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Rep.
