A Barbadian theatrical dance group is taking legal action after being \u201cexcluded in the name of inclusivity\u201d following their \u201cunconstitutional\u201d disqualification from a national competition due to their Christian beliefs on gender.<\/p>\n
Praise Academy of Dance Barbados was banned from performing at the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) in October for allegedly breaching the rules by exceeding \u201cthe bounds of good taste,\u201d and making \u201cdefamatory claims,\u201d the\u00a0St. Vincent Times\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n The infraction was found due to the group\u2019s \u201cSpeak of Life\u201d performance produced for the event, in which they \u201cpresented a Christian viewpoint of gender identity and sexual orientation and declared the Christian worldview that there are only two genders.\u201d<\/p>\n A\u00a0recording\u00a0of the full performance\u00a0includes a depiction of a teen girl who struggles with her gender identity in school, with a dialogue sharing biological and biblical explanations for the two sexes.<\/p>\n At one point, the performers announce, \u201cIt\u2019s not a choice, you don\u2019t get to pick.
