A petition denouncing the Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade for advancing \u201cthe liberal LGBTQ agenda\u201d had garnered nearly 35,000 with almost a full week to go before the holiday.<\/p>\n
The petition was started by One Million Moms, a division of the American Family Association that was established \u201cto stop the exploitation of our children, especially by the entertainment media,\u201d according to its\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Interested readers can view and sign the petition\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Numerous media outlets, including\u00a0The Western Journal<\/a>, had reported on the \u201ctransgender agenda \u2026 taking center stage\u201d at this year\u2019s parade, which apparently prompted the group to launch the petition.<\/p>\n The the U.K.\u2019s Daily Mail first reported on petition Monday, it had about 17,000 electronic signatures. That number has doubled in the four days since.<\/p>\n \u201cUnless they are forewarned about it, this year\u2019s holiday parade will potentially expose tens of millions of viewers at home to the liberal LGBTQ agenda,\u201d the petition reads.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is clear that Macy\u2019s does not have our children\u2019s best interests in mind,\u201d the group added. \u201cMacy\u2019s needs to know that trust must be earned, and once trust is lost, it is difficult to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n According to\u00a0The Associated Press<\/a>, Cher, the woman who\u00a0recently made headlines<\/a>\u00a0by declaring she would leave the United States if former President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0is re-elected, is supposed to entertain a country after regularly insulting the half that supports Trump.<\/p>\n At least some of that half seems likely not to tune in to the coverage of the parade on\u00a0Thanksgiving<\/a>, a number that this petition apparently seeks to increase.<\/p>\n Breitbart<\/a>\u00a0reported last week that \u201cnon-binary\u201d actors from two Broadway shows \u2014 \u201c& Juliet\u201d and \u201cShucked\u201d \u2014 were expected to be part of the parade festivities.<\/p>\n The show \u201c& Juliet\u201d is inspired by Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cRomeo and Juliet,\u201d but explores what Juliet\u2019s life might have been like had she not committed suicide at the end of the story.
