For many will come in my name, saying, \u2018I am the Christ,\u2019 and they will lead many astray.\u201d<\/p>\n At least one of those deceivers is turning out to be an AI called \u201cask_jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n According to\u00a0The Independent<\/a>, a Berlin-based tech collective has developed a chatbot resembling Jesus Christ, which already has thousands of followers seeking advice and guidance.<\/p>\n The chatbot, referred to as \u201cAI Jesus,\u201d has the appearance of a bearded white man with a radiant halo and utilizes artificial intelligence reportedly trained on the teachings of Jesus and the Bible.<\/p>\n Operating under the Twitch channel name \u201cask_jesus,\u201d the live stream has amassed a following of over 36,000 devoted users. Viewers are encouraged to pose their questions to the \u201cAI Jesus,\u201d who responds with gestures and answers, providing advice on topics ranging from gaming to relationships.<\/p>\n The chatbot has the ability to remember previous interactions with the user which gives it a false sense of omniscience.<\/p>\n The ask_jesus\u00a0AI<\/a>\u00a0was created by\u00a0The Singularity Group<\/a>, a team of self-described \u201cdriven and ambitious volunteer activists working on innovative projects to make a real difference in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n A closer look at the \u201cprojects\u201d page on the group\u2019s website reveals their interest in \u201ctech philanthropy.\u201d The website also claims to be \u201cusing innovative technologies such as the PRPS & DUBI blockchain tokens alongside the Giving Works charity\u201d towards \u201ca universal basic income for all.\u201d<\/p>\n That doesn\u2019t sound suspicious at all.<\/p>\n Fans of the ask_jesus praise the \u2018realism\u2019 of \u201cAI Jesus,\u201d who offers moral and ethical advice. But its zen approach to the questions makes it sound far more like Deepak Chopra than Jesus Christ.
