Days ago, Canada approved a \u201cconversion therapy\u201d ban that condemns Christian doctrine on the sinfulness of homosexuality and transgenderism as \u201cmyth.\u201d Indeed, bill C-4 \u2014 passed unanimously by both the Senate and the House of Commons \u2014 threatens pastors with up to five years of prison time if they remain faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

As thousands of American ministers stand<\/a> in solidarity with Canadian believers by preaching about biblical sexual ethics on Sunday, January 16, two Canadian pastors \u2014 Jacob Reaume of Trinity Bible Chapel<\/a> and Tim Stephens of Fairview Baptist Church<\/a> \u2014 told The Daily Wire about the implications of C-4 and how Canadian Christians plan to respond.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Church must be a prophetic witness\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n

While describing C-4, Reaume \u2014 whose church incurred over $100,000 in fines last year for refusing<\/a> to shut its doors in defiance of Canada\u2019s COVID-19 lockdowns \u2014 noted that the edict will \u201cmake the preaching of the biblical gospel a criminal act.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biblical gospel is a message of conversion, whereby Christ causes sinners to be born-again, thus converting them from sinful propensities to godliness,\u201d he explained. \u201cThe bill\u2019s language is vague enough that many think it might criminalize a biblical call to forsake sodomitic propensities to embrace righteousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stephens \u2014 who was jailed<\/a> in a maximum-security facility last summer for refusing to close his church \u2014 added that \u201cthe law is overly broad in defining conversion therapy,\u201d thereby enshrining \u201cprogressive gender ideology and queer theory as normative.\u201d<\/p>\n
