Micaiah Bilger<\/span> – August 5, 2021<\/p>\n The University of Pittsburgh may have inadvertently provided more evidence this week that aborted babies may be being born alive and left to die<\/a> so that their organs may be used for scientific research, according to the Center for Medical Progress.<\/p>\n As LifeNews.com has extensively reported, earlier this week, Judicial Watch<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Center for Medical Progress<\/a>\u00a0exposed evidence of babies potentially being born alive in abortion<\/a>s and other disturbing\u00a0practices<\/span>\u00a0in documents they obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.<\/p>\n The documents show that the federal government gave the University of Pittsburgh at least $2.7 million in federal tax dollars<\/a> over the past five years to become a \u201ctissue hub\u201d for aborted baby body parts for scientific research.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, a University of Pittsburgh spokesperson\u00a0defended its\u00a0practices\u00a0in an interview with Fox News<\/a>. However, the Center for Medical Progress said the university\u2019s statements confirm that\u00a0aborted babies\u2019 hearts still are beating while their kidneys are harvested for scientific research<\/a>.<\/p>\n Pitt is now admitting to the news media that the aborted babies are still alive at the time their kidneys are cut out for [National Institutes of Health] grant money,\u201d said David\u00a0Daleiden, founder and president of the Center for Medical Progress.<\/p>\n Daleiden\u00a0continued: \u201cPitt\u2019s grant application for\u00a0GUDMAP\u00a0advertised this to the federal government and that labor induction abortions, where the baby is pushed out of the mother whole, would be \u2018used to obtain the tissue.\u2019 The plain meaning of the\u00a0GUDMAP\u00a0grant application, and the University of Pittsburgh\u2019s statement explaining it, is that Pitt and the Planned Parenthood abortion providers responsible for its \u2018research\u2019 abortions are allowing babies, some of the age of viability, to be delivered alive, and then killing them by cutting their kidneys out.\u201d<\/p>\n The basis for this came from a statement university spokesman David\u00a0Seldin\u00a0made to Fox News about \u201cischemia time,\u201d which he said \u201crefers to the time after the tissue collection procedure.\u201d<\/p>\n The Center for Medical Progress explained:<\/p>\n Ischemia\u00a0starts when the organ (the kidneys primarily in Pitt\u2019s\u00a0GUDMAP\u00a0project) is cut off from blood circulation. The NIH defines\u00a0ischemia\u00a0as \u201clack of blood supply to a part of the body.\u201d The University states the fetal organs do not undergo ischemia\u2014lose their blood supply\u2014until \u201cafter the tissue collection procedure\u201d.
