Jay Greenberg<\/a> – <\/span>March 5, 2021<\/p>\n The\u00a0Mississippi House of Representatives has passed a bill that bans transgender athletes from competing in female sports events.<\/p>\n The state’s House passed the bill 81-28 on Wednesday to ban transgenders from competing on\u00a0sports\u00a0teams based on the gender they “identify”<\/em> with.<\/p>\n Seven representatives\u00a0voted “present,”<\/em> while six did not vote, which counts neither for nor against the bill.<\/p>\n The ban would apply to teams at all schools and universities across the state.<\/p>\n The bill now heads to the desk of Republican Gov.
