Another threat from the East is invading America! And this time it\u2019s not a virus but a giant spider!<\/p>\n

Kathy Ramatowski is the kind of person who doesn\u2019t scare easily, but some things can push a person to their limits.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first one was on the deck in the back. I was like, \u2018What is that?\u2019<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u201d was a spider outside her Dacula home. Not just any spider, but one that is more than four inches long.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a year that already brought us\u00a0murder hornets\u00a0and\u00a0giant lizards, more people are now seeing the Joro spider.<\/p>\n

University of Georgia agriculture extension agent James Murphy says the Joro spider is traditionally found in China, Japan and Korea but it\u2019s also apparently in north Georgia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you fully stretch out those legs, maybe up to around five inches in particularly large individuals,<\/em>\u201d Murphy said.<\/p>\n

Murphy says spiders may have stowed away in crates that came through Atlanta\u2019s airport at some point.<\/p>\n

The good news is they are not deadly. The bad news is a four-inch spider has large fangs and if they bite, it can hurt.<\/p>\n
