Hundreds of employees were let go abruptly after dozens of KFC restaurant locations across Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin closed suddenly this past week.
As many as 25 KFC restaurants owned by fast food franchisee EYM Chicken are now empty retail shells, but parent company EYM Group, which owns other fast-food chains like Pizza Hut, Burger King, Denny’s and Panera Bread, is not yet indicating the reason for the closures.

A persecution watchdog is warning about recent developments in Bangladesh that are reportedly already putting Christians and other minority religious adherents in grave danger.
“About a month ago, after a few weeks of really bloody protests and bloody suppression of protests by the government, the government of Bangladesh was overthrown in essentially a military coup,” Joel Veldkamp, head of international communications at Christian Solidarity International (CSI), told CBN News.

A TERROR plot to kill Pope Francis has been uncovered with Indonesian cops swooping on seven suspects believed to be ISIS-inspired.
The foiled ploy targeted the Pope during his visit to Indonesia, where he started a 12-day tour of the Asia Pacific.
The suspects were arrested across September 2 and 3 after cops were tipped off by concerned citizens.

Scientists around the world were caught off guard on Wednesday as a previously undetected asteroid collided with Earth’s atmosphere.
The one metre (3ft) wide asteroid was spotted just eight hours before it burned up over the Philippines in a spectacular fireball.
Luckily, the asteroid, named 2024 RW1, was too small to cause any damage.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the surface-to-air system was part of a build-up of German and European defences launched after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the Ukraine invasion in 2022.
“Russia has been massively rearming for many years, especially in the field of rockets and cruise missiles,” Scholz said at the inauguration ceremony at a base in Todendorf near the northern city of Hamburg.
Putin had broken disarmament treaties and “deployed missiles as far as Kaliningrad”, a Russian exclave located some 530 kilometres (330 miles) from Berlin, he added.
