Two Baptist church buildings in Cleveland County, N.C. were set on fire Friday night in what investigators are treating as cases of suspected arson. Family Research Council has compiled 1,384 acts of “Hostility against Churches in the United States” from 2018 through 2024, and these latest attacks only extend that trend. “This is a reflection, really, of what Paul wrote about in Second Thessalonians [2:7],” declared FRC President Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch,” where Paul writes that “the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.”

Both churches sustained minor damage to the buildings’ exteriors. At Tabernacle Baptist Church, flames had scorched the siding where a fire had been built against the building’s side handicap entrance. Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church sustained damage to its siding and eaves where the fire had been set next to some shrubbery.

Christ is King! That joyful statement of truth for the faithful in Jesus has been weaponized recently on social media as hateful rhetoric toward the Jewish people. Even Muslim influencers (who do not believe Christ is King) encourage its use after discovering its new, antisemitic intent [propagated by people such as Candice Owens].

This Jew-hating behavior by people who claim to follow (wait for it) the Jewish Messiah is not an honest representation of genuine, biblical Christianity; and the slogan, which should be used with reverence and love, is one that sincere evangelicals must take back.

(Galilee, Israel) — This has been a whirlwind of a week in Israel, and the one truth that it has reminded me of so clearly is that here in the Middle East one must always expect the unexpected. The wonderful comfort in knowing Scripture, however, is that no matter how many twists and turns we might face, we know that our God is always in control and is carrying history forward to His ultimate completion.

When you launch a full-throated attack on a United States president in the middle of his re-election bid, then you indict him and try to throw him in jail… you’d better be prepared for the consequences that could follow.

This is especially true when you allegedly use the federal government to illegally spy on him and his allies.

First, let’s go back to 2022 and set the stage. Back to when the FBI, under former director Christopher Ray, launched “Operation Arctic Frost.” This investigation into “January 6th” served as the pretext for special counsel Jack Smith’s federal indictment of Trump on so-called “election interference” charges.

A diverse group of influential individuals, from tech pioneers to politicians, has signed a statement urging a pause in the creation of artificial intelligence that surpasses human cognitive abilities. The list, which includes the legendary “Godfathers of AI” and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak along with figures like Richard Branson, believe that superintelligent AI could lead to “human economic obsolescence and disempowerment, losses of freedom, civil liberties, dignity, and control, to national security risks and even potential human extinction.”

Lithuania has complained of a Russian incursion into its airspace of a pair of jets leaving Kaliningrad, the latest such violation in an apparently rising pace of events in recent weeks.

Two aircraft — a jet fighter and an aerial refuelling tanker jet — were intercepted by NATO Eurofighter Typhoons on the verge of Lithuanian airspace on Thursday. The interception comes amid discussion between NATO partners on how to deal with the rising pace of violations of the alliance’s airspace, including by manned jets and by drones.

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials on Friday evening arrested more than two dozen pastors across at least seven provinces who are part of the underground Zion Church network, extending what China Aid called “the most extensive and coordinated wave of persecution against urban independent house churches in China in over four decades.” Details on both the charges and the total number of arrests remain thin, but one U.S.-based Zion Church pastor, Sean Long, said the pastors may be charged with “illegal dissemination of religious content via the internet.”

University communities often, across the United States, essentially are communes of liberalism. Professors donate the vast majority of the political contributions they make to Democrats. Conservative students often are silenced. Conservative teachers largely cannot be found.

But now one student at the University of North Georgia says it’s gone further, with her assigned $100 textbook openly slamming Christians as “white supremacist.”

Kelbie Murphy, a senior, bought the assigned book for her course in International Public Relations.

Space agencies are developing a plan to use nuclear weapons against an asteroid that poses a threat to the Moon, potentially creating dangerous debris clouds that could threaten Earth’s satellite infrastructure for years.

Asteroid 2024 YR4, measuring 65 meters in diameter, currently has a 4% probability of impacting the Moon in December 2032. While the space rock poses minimal risk to Earth itself, a lunar collision could generate catastrophic debris exceeding 100 million kilograms that would endanger orbital satellite systems critical for communications, navigation, and scientific operations.
