Gen Z more close-minded than parents, grandparents’ generations: ‘Young, illiberal progressives’

Generation Z is less open-minded and more intolerant than older generations, according to a recently released study by the left-leaning British media outlet Channel 4.

Defined as people aged 13-24, Gen Z were more likely to believe that people should be “canceled” for their views and held less acceptance of different opinions than older generations.

For its study, Channel 4 drew from a survey of 1,500 people, which was divided into cohorts of people aged 13-24 and people older than 25.

Channel 4 Chief Executive Alex Mahon noted in a speech on Tuesday about the study that it documented the rise of what she described as “young, illiberal progressives” (YIPs).

Bible’s Reliability Further Affirmed as King Hezekiah Inscription Deciphered

Israeli archaeology experts cite parallel passage in 2 Kings 20 and a new class of biblical artifacts.

A broken portion of an engraving on a limestone tablet the size of your palm (see photo below) is adding yet further confirmation to the biblical account and giving a new twist on how Israel’s kings saw themselves.

The partial inscription engraved in ancient Hebrew letters was originally reported in 2008, but was not deciphered until recently. The letters on the inscription are only fragments of words, with the rest of the letters having been broken off. When found, the artifact was near an ancient man-made pool together with pottery shards dating to the 8th century BC. However, at the time the Israel Antiquities Authority did not make a conclusive connection between the inscription, King Hezekiah and the pool.

Now two mainstream Israel archaeological experts, Gershon Galil and Eli Shukron, have concluded that the full inscription was:

“Hezekiah made the pool in Jerusalem.”

The parallel passage is found in 2 Kings 20:20, which reads:

“As for the other events of Hezekiah’s reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city…” (NKJ)

Sheriffs Vow Not To Enforce Oregon’s Strict New Gun Control Law

Oregon sheriffs are vowing not to enforce a strict gun control measure passed by the state’s voters last week.

At least five county sheriffs are openly refusing to not enforce at least parts of the law, according to Fox News. The officials say that the law oversteps Constitutional gun rights and will be an additional drain on law enforcement while failing to address problems with more serious crimes.

“The biggest thing is this does absolutely nothing to address the problem,” Sheriff Cody Bowen of Union County told Fox News. “The problem that we have is not … magazine capacity. It’s not background checks. It’s a problem with mental health awareness. It’s a problem with behavior health illness.”

“Our society as a whole is a bigger problem rather than saying that, you know, the guns are killing people,” he said.

San Francisco Launches Program To Pay Trans Residents $1,200 A Month For 18 Months

The city of San Francisco is offering a monthly stimulus program exclusively for transgender residents.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced that the city would begin accepting applications for the Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT) program Wednesday. The program is exclusive to transgender residents of the city, and led by The Transgender District, a neighborhood of the city for transgender people; it will give 55 transgender residents $1,200 a month for up to 18 months. The move is allegedly part of an effort to advance equity for transgender people.

“Guaranteed Income for Transgender People (G.I.F.T.) will provide economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty our most impacted community members face,” a website for the program reads. “The Transgender District and Lyon-Martin Community Health Services, in partnership with municipal city departments in the City and County of San Francisco, will provide 55 Transgender residents of San Francisco County with $1,200 a month in guaranteed income for a year and a half. The program will prioritize enrollment of Transgender, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, and Intersex (TGI) people who are also Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), experiencing homelessness, living with disabilities and chronic illnesses, youth and elders, monolingual Spanish-speakers, and those who are legally vulnerable such as TGI people who are undocumented, engaging in survival sex trades, or are formerly incarcerated.”

‘Arrogance At Its Finest’: Biden Boasts He’ll Change Nothing About What He’s Doing

On Wednesday, after most of the results had been tabulated from Election Day, President Biden declared that he would do nothing differently, despite voters being disenchanted with the direction of the country.

Earlier in his press conference, Biden had stated that “the voters were also clear that they’re still frustrated. I get it. I understand it’s been a really tough few years in this country for so many people.”

But then a reporter, noting Biden’s comment that voters were frustrated and polls showing 75% of voters believing the country is heading in the wrong direction, asked Biden, “What in the next two years do you intend to do differently to change people’s opinion of the direction of the country, particularly as you contemplate a run for President in 2024?”

“Nothing, because they’re just finding out what we’re doing,” Biden replied, asserting, “The more they know about what we’re doing, the more support there is.”

As Biden Demonizes Republicans, Obama Warns ‘People Are Going To Get Hurt’ Amid ‘Demonizing’ In Politics

Former President Barack Obama warned on the campaign trail Tuesday that “demonizing” political opponents was going to cause people to “get hurt,” remarks that he made just a day before President Joe Biden demonized Republicans in an address to the nation.

The remarks from Obama come as Democrats have needed him on the campaign trail ahead of next week’s midterm elections due to Biden’s low approval ratings and the general dissatisfaction that many in the country have about how things are going, particularly the economy.

“This increasing habit of demonizing political opponents creates a dangerous climate,” Obama said at a Tuesday rally in Nevada. “Elected officials who do not explicitly reject or participate in over-the-top rhetoric, if that’s what they’re doing instead, if they just ignore or make light of that kind of violence, or if they encourage their supporters to stand outside voting places armed with guns and dressed in tactical gear, if that’s the environment that we create, more people are going to get hurt.”

Car Company Sells Russian Government All Operations For One Euro

Nissan announced on Tuesday that the company will sell all operations in Russia to an entity of the nation’s government.

As warfare between Ukraine and Russia escalates ahead of the winter months, the Japanese automaker announced that NAMI, a Russian government body dedicated to automotive industry development, is slated to acquire the firm’s business in the nation. Nissan, which will lose ¥100 billion, or $686 million, as the company is sold for €1, has the option to repurchase its operations within the next six years.

“On behalf of Nissan, I thank our Russian colleagues for their contribution to the business over many years,” Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida remarked in a statement. “While we cannot continue operating in the market, we have found the best possible solution to support our people.”

Nissan does not expect an impact on its full-year earnings guidance as a result of the sale since the company did not assume any activity in the market over the course of the fiscal year.

‘There’s No Such Thing As A Woman’: Man Crowned Glamour Brazil’s ‘Woman Of The Year’

Glamour Magazine Brazil announced the winners of their Generation Glamour awards this week, and the roundup of honorees featured two biological men, including an influencer named Linn da Quebrada, who brought home “Woman of the Year.”

Quebrada does not identify as a woman the way many trans-identifying men do. “I’m not a woman, I’m a transvestite,” he told Globo Television Network presenter Pedro Bial, according to Reduxx. “Let’s be honest, there’s no such thing as ‘a woman.’”

The prize winner justified his stance by listing several Portuguese words that have ambiguous or subjective meanings, which he believes is also true of the word “woman.”

Quebrada identifies as a gay man or a transvestite, a commonly used term in Brazil to describe men who dress like women but do not identify as women, according to Reduxx. The influencer became famous after appearing on “Big Brother Brazil.”

Saudi Arabia Strengthens Ties With China After Snubs, Begging From Biden

Leaders from Saudi Arabia and China said on Friday that the two nations will strengthen cooperation on energy after the Islamic kingdom’s falling out with the United States.

Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Chinese National Energy Administration Director Zhang Jianhua said during a teleconference that both countries are committed to stable long-term crude oil supplies, of which China is the world’s largest importer, according to a report from Reuters.

The news comes as relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia, long considered a key economic ally in the Middle East, are strained due to President Joe Biden calling the nation a “pariah” during the 2020 election cycle in response to the 2018 murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who had been critical of Saudi rulers. Democratic lawmakers have since questioned the wisdom of the United States’ continued alliance with the country.

Saudi Arabia recently moved to restrict global petroleum output alongside other OPEC members, leading to a worldwide surge in oil prices. The Saudi government later revealed in a statement that Biden had requested for the kingdom to delay the production cut until after the upcoming midterm elections.
