In-Depth: The Iranian Protesters May Have Ignited A Firestorm, But Will The Regime Be Reduced To Ashes?

The long-term simmering unrest in Iran reached full boil two weeks ago and Iran has been on fire ever since. Protesters took to the street marching against the Islamic regime and its failed economy, broken infrastructure, and violent suppression of critics. Immediately, police and military forces were dispatched to put down the demonstrations. Their heavy-handed tactics only blew oxygen on the flames, causing the protests to spread in scope and intensity. The police responded in kind and were very soon using live ammunition to suppress the activists. That’s when the bodies began to pile up. First, tens, then hundreds, then thousands.

As we enter 2026, we are seeing headlines of courageous men and women standing up at great personal cost to the Iranian regime. We should all be praying for the people of Iran—especially for the many Iranian Christians among them. Pray for freedom, protection, and the gospel to continue spreading.

Iran is not simply a political talking point, but what many, including myself, believe is a land of biblical significance. Iran (ancient Persia) is considered a major player in end times prophecy.

Greenland: Russia Accuses NATO of Militarising the Arctic While Professing Its Own Innocence

Russia claims there will be “serious consequences” from NATO militarising Greenland, as it asserts both its own innocence in the matter and legitimate interest in the whole Arctic region.

Russia and China do not pose any threat to Greenland, and any interest shown in the region by Russia is a legitimate expression of it being the “largest Arctic power”, Moscow said on Thursday as it claimed Moscow and Beijing were being used as pretexts by NATO to militarise the high north. Russia considers the Arctic part of its sphere of influence and previously warned the U.S. it considers it part of its “strategic interests”.

China sends 6 navy ships, 33 fighter jets toward Taiwan in new show of force

Taiwan has been buying weapons from the US in a $345 million defense package in response to China’s ongoing pressure

China sent navy ships and a large group of fighter jets toward Taiwan, continuing its military pressure on the island, Taiwan’s defense ministry said Thursday.

China claims self-ruled Taiwan as its own territory and has regularly sent flights toward the island in reaction to the island’s political activities. In the past year, it has also sent navy vessels as well as drones to circle the waters near the island.

Taiwan’s defense ministry said the Chinese People’s Liberation Army sent 33 warplanes and 6 navy vessels between 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. The J-10 and J-16 fighter jets flew across the midline and to the southwest of Taiwan.

The ministry said in an earlier statement Wednesday that Taiwan’s military tracked five of the ships as they sailed in coordination with the flights of the fighter jets.

The ministry said it used land-based missile systems to track the aircraft, 10 of which crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait, an unofficial boundary that had been considered a buffer between the island and mainland.
