President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will sign an executive order to create a task force that will “eradicate anti-Christian bias” from the federal government.
The 45th and 47th president made the announcement at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., adding that Attorney General Pam Bondi will lead the task force in rooting out “anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government.”

In my home state of Queensland (in Australia), the Queensland State Government has just announced a pause on any new patients under the age of 18 accessing pediatric gender therapies through the publicly funded health system. The decision came after serious concerns were raised about a 12-year-old who was recently prescribed puberty blockers without receiving the standard model of care for pediatric gender services. In Queensland, for those under 14 years of age, consultation is required from psychiatrists, psychologists, fertility specialists, pediatricians, social workers, and doctors.

In 1947, scientists who developed the first nuclear bombs came up with a way to gauge how close the world was to nuclear annihilation. They created a “Doomsday Clock” to publicize the release of the first issue of their magazine. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists showed the clock on its cover, with the clock set at seven minutes to midnight.
Although there was no other nation that possessed nuclear weapons, everyone knew that the Soviet Union would soon have them. Sure enough, in 1949, the Soviets detonated a device in Central Asia, setting off an arms race.

Police in Sydney reported on Wednesday that officers had taken the owner of a van filled with explosives into custody. The Sydney Morning Herald said that the van contained enough explosives to create a 40-meter blast wave. As of this writing, the owner has not been charged but has an arrest record. Police said that there have been no arrests related directly to the incident, but several people identified as being on the “periphery” have been arrested.
The story came to light on January 19 when a citizen found and moved a van containing the explosives and the address of a local synagogue.

A new study shows that the risk of developing dementia at any time after age 55 among Americans is 42 percent, more than double the risk reported by older studies.
That dementia risk translates into an estimated half-million cases this year, rising to a million new cases a year by 2060, according to the new work. Dementia involves progressive declines in memory, concentration, and judgment. The increasing number of cases is directly tied to the aging of the U.S. population. Beyond aging, a high risk of dementia is linked to genetic factors, as well as high rates of hypertension and diabetes, obesity, unhealthy diets, lack of exercise, and poor mental health.
