President Trump continues to play his cards, and everybody seems roiled by this.

Everybody on the anti-Israel Right and Left, the horseshoe theory group, seems to be very encouraged by the idea that President Trump is going to TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) out with regard to Iran, that somehow he’s now going to let Iran have a clear pathway to a nuclear weapon or something like that. And some people on the pro-Israel side are very agitated about this as well, thinking the same sort of thing.

That’s not what’s happening.

In 2025, American students from kindergarten through law school are dumber than they’ve ever been, and we needn’t look beyond the nation’s abysmal math and English literacy NAEP scores to prove it. Now, more than 200 California bar exam takers have had their failing scores adjusted to “pass,” indicating that the newest crop of California lawyers are dumber than they’ve ever been, too. What’s more, under simultaneous consideration by the state bar is a rule allowing students who registered for — but withdrew from — taking the bar exam altogether, to practice law under the supervision of “qualified” attorneys, bar exam be hanged.

The vast majority of mainline Protestant pastors here in America don’t believe the Bible.

 

And that’s not hyperbole—according to recent data from the National Survey of Religious Leaders, only 25% of such pastors “say they’re certain that Adam and Eve were real people” (by comparison, the study notes “80% of Evangelical pastors and 89% of black Protestant clergy affirm this belief with certainty”). Only 1 in 4 believe in a literal Adam and Eve! That’s certainly a contrast to the Bible’s view on the first couple (Matthew 19:4-5, Romans 5:12, 1 Corin. 15:21-22, 2 Corin. 11:3).

The British House of Commons narrowly approved an “assisted dying” bill on Friday, as critics warned the legislation contains weakened safeguards that could endanger vulnerable patients.

Catholic priest John Howard, who led people in prayer outside parliament, called the bill’s passage “a dark day for our country.”

CBS’s Stephen Colbert praised actress Cynthia Erivo for playing the lead role of Jesus in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and called the casting “long overdue.”

“One of my favorite musicals of all time is Jesus Christ Superstar. And I’m so excited that, in August, you’re going to be playing Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl,” Colbert told Erivo during an interview on The Late Show last week.

Iran struck Tel Aviv multiple times on Friday night in its three missile barrages, which resulted in damage to buildings and one confirmed death along with dozens of injuries.

Iran’s attack on the densely populated Israeli city comes after a senior security official told Israel’s Channel 12 that it would target Iran’s leaders and state infrastructure such as oil refineries if population centers were struck. So far, Israel’s attacks on Iran have primarily targeted nuclear and weapons sites, as well as locations with top military generals or nuclear scientists present.

As President Trump attempted to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran, it became clearer and clearer that the deal was not possible. Trump was never going to sign a JCPOA 2.0. deal.

Some people on the Right were complaining that President Trump wasn’t acting like Barack Obama. But it was never a MAGA position to be Barack Obama. Donald Trump said for ten years that the JCPOA was the worst deal in American history. He was never going back to it.

As new details emerge as the levels of coordination and talking between the United States and Israel over this current wave of attacks, it is clear that President Trump was actually playing 4D chess with all of this.
