Some people are no longer with us. Why? How serious is it to fall away? God is not a respecter of persons. God allows us to make mistakes, but we actually can quench the Spirit. We need to instil safeguards to ensure that we won’t fail/fall away.
Five reasons why individuals can fall away:
- They are not firmly grounded in the truth
- Going after material things (materialism)
- Spiritual sluggishness/lethargy
- Yielding to Satan’s wiles
- Following false teachers
