Our Christian Commitment – Revisited

Mr. John Durrad    04-06-2019    (from 04-03-2010)

Our baptism is a covenant (marriage) to God, and a commitment to daily to walk away from sin. What is our commitment level to this covenant? Keeping the commandments of God show our love to the Father and Christ and our love to others.

Commandment 1: Put God first in all things, and involve Him in the day-to-day decisions in your life.

Commandment 2: Do not allow any physical thing (family, job, entertainment etc.) be more important than God, and do not worship any graven image.

Commandment 3: Do not use God’s name with disrespect, in common phrases,  or in swearing.

Commandment 4: Keep the Sabbath holy by planning to attend services and having dialogue with other members (on-line or in person).

Commandment 5:  Show respect for your parents in your discussions and actions toward them.

Commandment 6: Do not murder anyone in thought, word, or by actions.

Commandment 7:  Do not engage in adultery in thought, word, or by actions.

Commandment 8: Do not steal from others. Instead remember love is giving in thought, word, and by actions.

Commandment 9: Be honest in dealing with others in thought, word and actions.

Commandment 10: Do not covet the things of others. Put God’s work first and pray for others.

What Will It Take? – Revisited

Mr. Robert Ardis   03-02-2019  (from 02-26-2011)

God reveals, in advance, His plans to His faithful servants (Amos 3:7). Past doctrinal errors/misconceptions are now revealed. God’s primary concern is with His church, not the world. Christ’s soon return is imminent.

The following biblically provable truths for His church are discussed in this sermon:

1) The Man of Sin (it’s not the Pope), has come and gone,

2) The great falling away from the Worldwide Church of God has  already occurred,

3) The Day of the Lord has come as a “thief in the night”,

4) The Abomination of Desolation (not the Pope) is standing in the holy place (not Jerusalem) now and,

5) God’s people are advised to flee now to the mountains (God’s true church)

Praising God

Mr. Gerry Ardis  02-16-2019

God will help us in trials and tribulations as He did for those in old and new testament times as examples for our learning. We need to praise God continually, and reflect on how He has helped us in our lives, and that He will help us in the present and into the future. God changes not! (Mal 3:6 and Heb 13:8)

Conquer Your Fears – Revisited

Mr. John Durrad  01-26-2019  (from 12-26-2009)

In this world, the minds of mankind is enslaved to fears. Fear can be managed if we learn to conquer our fears. We need to fear the Eternal. In doing so we will gain wisdom and knowledge that will conquer our fears.

Seven steps to conquer fear:

  1. Faith. Start with faith in God. We cannot fear God properly without faith in Him.
  2. Knowledge. Clean up our character by developing all the fruits of the Spirit.
  3. Temperance. Master temperance (self control) in all things in order to have proper control over mind and body.
  4. Patience. Develop broadness of mind by waiting for results under trial, the opposite of worrying.
  5. Godliness. Desire to be like God in character.
  6. Brotherly kindness. Decide not to be lukewarm by striving for brotherly kindness through the mastery of the fruits of the Spirit.
  7. Add love to brotherly kindness. Love is the perfection of God’s laws according to their spiritual intent. Love is directed away from self.
